I am trained as a clinical social worker and hold an independent clinical social workers license. I have a private practice in Northampton MA and also work at the Cutchins Children's Clinic. I have worked with people of all ages and genders both in the home setting and in the office setting.I am most interested in working with women and their partners transitioning into parenthood as well as families with young children and mother and baby dyads.
My prior experience as a postpartum doula makes me uniquely suited to understanding the challenges that a family with a newborn faces. I have also worked as a home based therapist for women during the pregnancy and postpartum phases. My experience in Early Intervention (a home based program that supports families with a children 0 to 3 who have developmental delays) has given me expertise in working with families who are adjusting to the complex first 3 years of life.
Working with women who have difficulty becoming pregnant has deepened my understanding of the emotional landscape of infertility.
I obtained my masters from the Smith College School for Social Work. Since graduating, I have taken numerous courses in topics related to the pre, perinatal and postpartum phases of life and am currently training in the child and parent psychotherapy model. In addition, I am also training in sensory motor psychotherapy which considers the way that our body and our nervous system holds emotional memory.
